The village school at Earl Soham is over 100 years old and a picturesque sight as it stands on a bend in the main village street.
There are just over sixty pupils on roll at present, divided into three classes. There are three classrooms, an activity room, office, staff room and headteacher's office. School lunches are cooked on the premises. There is a large meadow for sports activities and a new hard playing surface as well as a sturdy adventure play area. The children enjoy a variety of sporting and musical activities both inside and outside school hours and make full use of the locality in all areas of the curriculum.
Good links have been formed with the village playgroup and the W.I. who recently presented the youngest children with a beautifully made 'Story Sack' of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.
The school was proud to have recently been given a School Achievement Award for raising standards of attainment during the past year. This reflects the commitment and dedication of staff, children, parents and governors as they work together to make their school a very special place.
